Statement of Need

Each year the cost of attending college increases, and it is increasingly difficult for students to find the financial resources to afford college. In an effort to meet the need of those students and families, the Gamma Epsilon Foundation has established a scholarship program.

Purpose

The Gamma Epsilon Foundation Scholarship Program is designed to provide scholarships to local area students who have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence, leadership and community service.

Mission

Our mission is to increase access and opportunity for students in the Greater Sacramento Area to quality institutions of higher education. By alleviating the financial burden of college and providing mentorship, our goal is to ensure that scholarship recipients emerge as thriving students and future leaders committed to serving the Sacramento community.

Target population

Students from the Greater Sacramento Area, who are admitted freshmen, continuing undergraduates, or community college students.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have a grade point average of at least 3.00.
  • Admitted and enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or professional degree program.
  • Priority will be given to students enrolled in a STEM field of study.
  • Demonstrated commitment to community service.

Application Review and Selection Process

The Gamma Epsilon Foundation Scholarship Committee will post the application on its website, and send announcements out to the various educational institutions in the Greater Sacramento Area.
